Canceling Your Postcard
Step By Step
Click 'Postcards' in the left sidebar.
Select the postcard you want to cancel.
Click the 'Cancel send' button at the top right of the screen.
Confirm the cancellation when prompted.
Cancellation Window
When you send a postcard through DocuPost, you have a limited time window to cancel the mail piece. This window typically ranges from 5 minutes to a few hours. If you do not see the red "Cancel send" button, this means that the cancellation window has closed and there is no way to cancel your postcard.
Act Quickly If You Decide To Cancel
You only have a short time frame to cancel a sent postcard, usually from 5 minutes to a few hours. Act fast if you need to cancel it, as the option will disappear after this period, and your postcard will be sent as planned.
It is important to act quickly if you wish to cancel, as the option to do so will no longer be available after this period. Once the cancellation window has passed, your postcard will be mailed to the recipient as originally intended.
Post-Cancellation Actions
After you cancel a postcard, the mailing process stops immediately. The postcard will not be printed or sent to the recipient, and the cost of the postcard will be returned to your DocuPost account balance.
If you wish to resend the postcard, you will need to create and send a new postcard through DocuPost. The original postcard cannot be edited or resent once canceled.
Frequently Asked Questions
If the Cancel send button is missing, it means you are beyond the cancellation period and the postcard will be sent to the recipient you entered.
You can check the cancellation status by navigating to the detail page for your mail under the Postcards section in the left sidebar. The status will be indicated in the Mail information section.
Once a postcard is canceled, you cannot resend it. You will need to create and send a new postcard.
After cancellation, the postcard will not be mailed to the recipient and you will not be charged for the mailing.
